Posting daily outfits has forced me to realize how "boring" I dress. This experiment has absolutely made me put more thought into getting dressed in the morning. And now I realize how important accessories are to finishing an outfit. The problem is that I'm not used to wearing accessories... guess I'm gonna have to learn! :)

This is another example of not exactly what I wore, but the closest thing I could find.

About 2-3 years ago I bought a yellow, green, and white chevron striped sundress from Old Navy. It was on super sale then, so it was already old. So, really, this polyvore set isn't very descriptive/accurate, but it's the closest thing I could find on the internet in 2011. Also, the dress came with some kind of "strap" thing that could be used to make it into a halter dress. I just used it as a belt since all the layers were starting to look shapeless.

Wow. There is so much black in my wardrobe.

I started doing this because I need to force myself to be creative instead of just wearing the same outfit over and over and over again. There aren't any rules being enforced or anything. I don't mind repeating outfits, just not every day/week, as I noticed I was doing before.

Today I had a 7am meeting. Guess it's safe to say that the honeymoon is over! ;)

Seriously, there was really no thought put into this. Mostly I just made sure all my goods were covered up (and it was almost 80 degrees today, so I did consider that much).

Also, not all of these items are the ones I own. There is no way I would spend $40 on a shirt! But most of my stuff is either a few years old or from Ross/TJ Maxx & they don't have websites, so some of these things are similar items. I do own the shoes & pants though. And I love both of them!

First Day!

I got a new job!!! This is what I wore to my first day. It was a long one 10am-8pm. Because I work for City Hall in my small town, I had to go to the City Council Meeting to be publicly "introduced" to City Council (although I already met them all) & the citizens of my town.

I picked this thinking it would look professional & flattering. In hindsight, this flip-flop lover should've chosen something with flats for the first day of training!

So far the job is incredibly interesting. It was kind of pieced together from other positions (those people have been promoted/moved to another dept) with some added responsibilities. It's the first time in my (work) life that I finally feel completely grown up. Husband+House+Career=Adulthood.
