33 Weeks

How far along:
33 Weeks.

How big is the baby:
Baby is the size of a pineapple.

Weight gain/Maternity clothes:
Gained this week: +2.4
Total Gain: +13.4

Movement?
Mostly rolling movements. And I usually feel them on the top right part of my stomach against my ribs. Some of the more pronounced moves are starting to get a little uncomfortable. Sometimes, at night, he makes such a big movement against the bed that it wakes me up. Maybe he's telling me to turn over? J still hasn't felt him move, though!

Food cravings/aversions?
I LOVE MILK (& I don't think that'll ever change)!!! We also like cheese. A lot. And then there's watermelon, which I could eat almost every single day. There's not a whole lot I can't stand aside from salads.

Gender?
BOY!

Symptoms?
fatigue, sensitivity to smells, nausea, headaches, vivid dreams, big belly, big appetite, elevated temperature & lots of sweating, swelling, heartburn, pain in sides & back below ribs, hip pain, tender breasts, dry skin, clumsiness (more than usual), drooling, gas, irritability and weepiness and I'm pretty sure I may have had some of my first very light Braxton Hicks contractions.

What do I miss?
This week has been pretty good, so there's not a lot I miss. Although it would be very nice to sleep straight through the night without getting up 4-7 times to pee.

This Week:
Ryker weighs a little over 4 lbs & has passed 17 inches. His skin is smoothing out and his skeleton is hardening (which might explain my love for dairy). His skull bones still aren't fused together
to allow for easier passage through the birth canal. In fact, they won't be completely fused until early adulthood (to accomodate his brain growth).

An entire outfit made of non-maternity clothes! Unfortunately, my purple tank top & skirt waistband kept riding up above my belly.

Baby Shower Weekend

First, let me say that J & I have been so fortunate to have so many people want to celebrate our little guy's upcoming arrival! Over the weekend we had two showers and have one more scheduled the first weekend in August. J & I are completely overwhelmed at the outpouring of love and support from all of the people who have been a part of these showers. We cannot thank everyone enough.

Saturday, we had a small couples shower at my parents house. I did not take any pictures, so all the ones on the blog are from my sister-in-law who has been  kind enough to upload some of her pictures to facebook, which I am now using. :)
This one was a jungle/safari theme. Stacy, the hostess, completely decorated my parents' house with animal print and jungle leaves etc. It was amazing. And the food? DELICIOUS!!!! Pretty sure I gained like 3 lbs just from that shower alone!
This is the best shot I could find of the decor. Also, my two brothers-in-law were stuck on a love seat together while their wives were mingling. LOL.

Josh in action. Men never get to have showers and open presents. So I made him open these. We are so excited about the stroller!!!!!

Awkward prom pose outtakes. We didn't actually have a successful awkward prom photo. Mostly because he was cracking me up so much.

Sunday, the ladies at my in-laws' church hosted a baby tea. Luckily, there are a few more pictures of this one because I actually got to talk to my sis-in-law before the shower & ask her to take pictures. :)
They decorated the fellowship hall in a baseball theme, which was so stinking adorable! And, oh my goodness, there was so much stuff for Ryker! This little guy is definitely going to be well-loved by this church family.

Some decorations (and delicious cake pops!) from the baby tea.

With the wonderful hostesses of the shower.

Me and two of the grandmothers-to-be.

Weight gain/Maternity clothes:
Gained this week: +1.3
Total Gain: +11

Movement?
Yes. Less punches/kicks and more turning/rolling movements.

Food cravings/aversions?
Milk. I will always love milk.

Gender?
BOY!

Symptoms?
fatigue, sensitivity to smells, nausea, vivid dreams, big belly, big appetite, elevated temperature & lots of sweating, swelling, heartburn, pain in sides & back below ribs, hip pain, tender breasts, dry skin, clumsiness (more than usual), drooling, gas, irritability and weepiness. Did I mention fatigue? Because I've been awake for 2 hours and I'm ready to go back to sleep.

What do I miss?
Getting comfortable.

This Week:
Ryker is now about 3.75 lbs and almost 17 inches long. He's fattening up for survival on the outside and should gain about 1/3 - 1/2 of his birth weight over the next few weeks. He now has toenails, fingernails, and (maybe) hair. His skin is smoothing out now that he's gaining fat.

31 Weeks

I got really lazy last week and did absolutely nothing productive over the 4 day holiday weekend. In fact, this post was written & the picture taken last Wednesday, but I never got around to putting it together & publishing it until this morning. Oh well.

How far along: 31 Weeks (We’re in the single digits for weeks left until his due date!)

How big is the baby: Baby is the size of 4 navel oranges. Babycenter also compares him to a coconut. –image via babycenter

Weight gain/Maternity Clothes: Gained this week: +0, Total Gain: +9.7.

Movement: ALL THE TIME! I think we have a little break dancer in there. And it’s still my favorite part of the pregnancy!

Food cravings/aversions: Milk will always be my first love for food. I’ve also taken to eating peanut butter and honey sandwiches with a side of plain chips (and a giant glass of milk, obvs) almost every day for lunch. It is delicious!

Gender: Boy.

Symptoms: Pregnancy brain, big belly, big appetite, fatigue (I get worn out much quicker these days), vivid dreams (ask me about my hairy legs nightmare), mild nausea, heartburn, elevated temperature & lots of sweating, side/back pain, hip pain (OMG, this STILL keeps me up at night!), tender breasts, dry skin, gas, heat rash/chafing, irritability, and mild swelling.

What do I miss: Rash free skin. Leaving it at that.

This week: Ryker is over 16 inches long and weighs about 3.33 lbs. (Except that my sweet little guy is measuring about a week ahead in terms of size (he was measuring 32 at my 30w6d appointment). I don’t really think his measurements have anything to do with the timing of his birth. I really think I’m just going to have a big ole baby!) He can move his head from side to side, and is accumulating fat.
